Welcome to the most satisfying little sweet there is, fried dough, or us Americans call it, a donut. I know I shouldn't have another one, but they are just so good. So good that this recipe is the recipe they use at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. I have never been there, but thought it would be the perfect beginning to our 1st Episode of Season 2. Beignets
1 1/2 c. of warm water
1 packets of yeast
1/2 c. sugar
in a bowl add the 3 ingredients and let activate for 10 mins
2 eggs
1 c. Evaporated milk
1/4th tsp. salt
add to bowl and whisk up
add egg mixture to the yeast
add 3 cups Bread Flour
1/2 c. shorting
then 4 c. of Bread flour
Kneed
then let rise till double in size
roll out cut into squares
then fry up in oil then coat with powder sugar
